The State Corporation pays close attention to implementing a local supply chain, ensuring the participation of local enterprises in developing the NPP construction project. Contractors are selected based on competitive tenders, which are held in accordance with the company’s standards of maximum fairness and transparency.
ASE Vice-President Grigory Sosnin, who is leading the El-Dabaa NPP construction project, stated that “localization is extremely important to us and carries a competitive advantage, which is why we make sure to attract local suppliers in all our foreign projects. Our goal in Egypt is to achieve up to 20% of localization during the construction of the country’s first nuclear power unit. This level is expected to grow with each new unit as Egyptian companies gain expertise. Tenders are important because, firstly, they help us choose the best contractors in the local market and, secondly, they stimulate competition and improve the quality standards of services and equipment in which Egyptian companies operate.
